About Educate Girls
Investing in girls’ education is essential for a better tomorrow. Educate Girls is committed to changing the collective mindset toward girls’ education and ensuring girls' access to education in remote rural villages of India.
India has the largest number of out-to-school girls. In partnership with the Government, along with local communities, Educate Girls and their volunteers called “Team Balika” help ensure higher enrollment and attendance for girls, and improve learning outcomes for all children.
They used an innovative advanced analytic technique as well as door-to-door survey data, to identify “hotspots" or "high incidence villages” with high concentrations of out-of-school girls, and was one of the Audacious Project of 2019.
